In 1971 and into 1972, the base model Chevelle was offered as the "heavy chevy" model featuring special appearance options. The "heavy chevy" was an option to all V8 engines, they range from 307 two-barrel to the 402 four-barrel. The only exception was the 454 big block V8 wasn't available with the "heavy chevy". I think that the chevy ss is a grate looking car for the year it had all the needs an want of a sport car. i like the body on the ss
I agree with what matt said, and i didnt realize that abck then you even had those options, when ppicking out you "family" all around car, and it still is a very sporty nice looking car.
